A poll was taken of Nilbog founding members after the 2022 Nilbog regular season requesting their votes for the below awards. All four members responded to each poll. Below are the final results.
Most Valuable Player – Justin Jefferson

If it wasn’t fantasy consensus at the beginning of the year, it is now. Justin Jefferson proved himself to be the premier fantasy asset in 2022; and at just 23 years old, he looks poised to be a consistent top receiver for the rest of the 2020’s.
Player of the Year – Jalen Hurts

In 2021, Jalen Hurts was good. In 2022, Hurts stepped up to great with a season that saw him combine strong passing numbers with 0.71 rushing TDs per game. There will always be questions in fantasy as to how long a run-TD dependent QB can continue to rush; but for 2022 Hurts was exceptional.
Rookie of the Year – Garrett Wilson

Wilson fell into a bit of a rut after his blowup game in week two – averaging 4.8 PPG in weeks three through seven. But he began to shine again in week eight and ended the season remarkably strong, racking up 15 PPG in his last six games of the regular season. After an impressive rookie season, he looks ready to be even better next year.
Over-Performer of the Year – Josh Jacobs

Josh Jacobs’ average draft position was 50th overall (RB22) at the start of the 2022 season. Though many expected him to lose his starting job this year, he proved the haters wrong with his best season to date.
Comeback Player of the Year – Christian McCaffrey

After missing fifteen regular season games over the course of the 2020 and 2021 seasons, Christian McCaffrey finally played a full season for the first time in three years. Big surprise – he’s really good when he’s on the field. Reports of his decline were greatly exaggerated.
Methodology and Full Results
NAP members were able to assigned ranked choice votes to their top three candidates in each award. Voters were not required to cast the maximum of three votes for each category.
A first place vote is worth three points, a second place vote is worth two points, and a third place vote is worth one point. The candidate with the most points wins the award. 12 Points – the maximum possible – indicates a unanimous first place winner. All candidates who received at least one vote are listed below.
