Extra Seasoning Volume 5 – Issue 3 | The 2025 Trade Compendium

It’s that time again. Time for a full “simplified” list of every GM’s trades over the course of the 2025 season. These trades span eleven months. The 2025 season officially began on January 3, 2025. The trade deadline was November 17, 2025.

If an asset was both sent and received by a GM in separate trades, they are removed from that GM’s trade chart. If they were sent, received, and sent again, they would appear only once under the Sent side. And vice-versa.

If a trade was made for a pick in the 2025 draft, the draft pick is replaced with the player who was drafted. For future picks, the team who the pick belongs to is listed. If no team is listed, that means the pick belongs to the GM in question.

Similar to last year, I have once again opted for a bit of light commentary and a grade. Like I say every year, asset-value gained/lost doesn’t always tell the full story of a team’s strategy.

Without further ado, each team is listed below. The order is based on how well I think each team did in the transaction window this year, from worst to best.

Commentary: TarmoTim was the most active GM this season with a total of 10 trades. He started the season by swapping JK Dobbins for Kenneth Walker at the cost of a 1st. In October, Walker was parlayed into Omarion Hampton as part of a blockbuster trade that contained six more picks. That’s a massive price for an injured rookie who only played five games. If Hampton can help Tim to a third Goblin Bowl victory now that he’s back from injury, the price will have been well worth it. Otherwise, the team may have lost more than two full years of picks for nothing.

Additionally there were notable moves to acquire Kayshon Boutte and re-acquire Stefon Diggs. Boutte also came at a relatively steep cost of a 1st and two 2nds. Boutte has flashed some promise this season, but he’s unlikely to have an immediate role on the team – and may never be more than a bye week flex.

Verdict: It’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for him.

Commentary: Eliel made a total of seven trades this year, almost all simple one-for-ones. After getting the highest grade in the 2024 trade compendium, we thought he may have become a trading savant. It turns out we’re safe.

Getting Davante Adams for a late 1st was brilliant move for a playoff contender but otherwise it’s rough. Losing Wan’Dale right before a quality WR2 season. Trading for mega-bust Kaleb Johnson. Wasting $10 on Dontayvion Wicks. Oof.

Verdict: Call him Sydney Sweeney with busts that big

Grade: D+

DHenman

SentReceived
Sam DarnoldJalen Hurts
Trey McBrideDarren Waller
Number of Trades: 1

Commentary: DHenman only made the one trade this year. I can’t fault giving up a top TE to secure a QB1. But given the monster season McBride had the current value on this doesn’t look great. McBride finished with 68 points more than the TE #2 – and 16 points more than the WR #2. And that’s after finishing as the TE #2 in 2024. Given we’re in a TE premium league, it feels like McBride alone is worth Hurts and Waller without needing to give up GEQBUS.

Of course, there’s a chance for this trade to age like wine. If Darnold isn’t extended past 2027. If McBride settles into the lower end of the TE1 range next season. If Waller comes back from injury and looks like his old self. But with the info we have now, this looks like an overpay.

Verdict: I still don’t know how we’re valuing QBs

Commentary: No fault to this team for wanting to ride out the rebuild. You can make the case that Kyren Williams should have been moved for a more long term asset. But Williams also kept them in the hunt for the consolation bracket and the 1.01.

Verdict: 1.02 secured

Commentary: You could maybe make the case that KJ should have traded picks to make a stronger playoff push. But it’s probably a good thing the team kept their 1st since they’re one of the favorites to win the consolation bracket.

Verdict: You know what this team needs? Another Quentin Johnson.

Commentary: It’s clear that Heff is ready to rebuild. Davante probably could have garnered a mid 1st over a late 1st, but that’s nit picking.

Verdict: Adios to a team icon. After 67 games and over 1,000 points, it feels strange seeing Davante on a different team. Like Ewing on the Magic.

Commentary: After going all-in to compete in 2024, this GM managed to rebuild some of the draft capital in 2025. The team won the division and finished 11-3, so it doesn’t seem to have cost them a chance at a second Goblin Bowl victory.

Verdict: As I say every year, if you can come out net-positive on picks and still make the playoffs, you did a good job.

Commentary: Technically what CoachesCoach traded was the 2025 3.07 which Eliel used to draft Bill. Considering he was a massive disappointment and Wan’Dale had a career best season, this was a damn good trade.

Verdict: I didn’t know a 3rd round pick could be a bust until Bill let us down.

Still a chance this ends up forgettable

Commentary: Getting Zay Flowers for Kaleb Johnson was a great move, even if Flowers was underwhelming this year. Trading Jalen Hurts for Trey McBride was another good move since the team also has Jayden Daniels. Any time you have two top-8 QBs you should be looking to move one for a start-able asset. The only real blunder this year was trading a 2026 1st for Josh Jacobs. If the team captures the 1.01 this year, that’s going to sting. Of course if they end up with the 1.10 it won’t be a big deal.

Verdict: I’m shocked this team missed the playoffs

This take is going to look stupid in a year, isn’t it

Commentary: Huge season for GreysonH this year. Taking over from Rob wasn’t going to be easy, but this GM has navigated it impressively. In addition to making the playoffs for the first time in team history, they accrued a potpourri of picks for the coming years. Of course, this could age terribly if Omarion Hampton turns in an elite playoff performance. But for now, I think I’d rather have the picks.

Verdict: Don’t overlook getting Michael Wilson for a 2nd
